Alice Cooper “Love It To Death” 1972 Gold RIAA LP White Matte Record Award

Alice Cooper  “Love It to Death”

Released: 3/71

Certified Gold: 11/6/72

Peak Chart Position: # 35

This is the first of Alice Cooper’s eight gold LP’s. It was their first teamed up with now-legendary producer Bob Ezrin, and contained the hit single “I’m Eighteen”

Their shows garnered enough notoriety for the group to become a major attraction. Then eventually the organized agitation of the shows quieted down, and the group became accepted for its music rather than rejected for its on stage antics.

David Libert worked for the band during the heyday… sort of advance man doing promotion.

This award has been opened.

The backing paper has been changed, and by feeling the sides you can tell the matte is secured to the frame with “clips” not the small nails that would have been appropriate for original condition.

The top center hook and the small square rubber pads at the bottom corners hung and cushioned it on a wall, but neither of them were original for this award.

(note: you can still feel the holes in the frame where the original wire hanging would have been attached).
