Isley Brothers

If you’re reading this email I know you’re interested in record awards. I bet you have, or have seen, quite a few. Me too. But here’s something I’ve never seen before (put it in the category of awards trivia). A few weeks ago I posted an RIAA Isley Brothers gold award for one million sales for Fight the Power, but I also have a gold award for sales of 500,000. According to reader Brittany, “a RIAA 45 award in the floater era goes  for 1 Million Sales and Platinum for 2 Million Sales.  The 500,000 Plate shouldn’t exist and is a mistake which is why he was probably re-issued one with the correct plate.”
