David Bowie – Ziggy Stardust – The Thin White Duke – An Artist For All Ages – Gone To Soon

As I listen to Hunky Dory and Ziggy Stardust, I mourn the loss of one of the greatest performers I ever saw/heard/loved. David Bowie. I was lucky enough to see him the first time on October 20, 1972 when he and his band came to the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium as Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars. I’d heard the buzz but wasn’t prepared for what I was going to see. In one word it was amazing. In two words it changed music. It was the next step in music, story telling, and stage performance, and Bowie was leading the way.

It’s never been more true “…When I hold them, something changes. Shiny surfaces attract my eyes. I feel something solid in my hands. Memories come into focus, and smiles. They light up success. I sense connection.”  Thank you David…
