Doors “Touch Me” Gold 45 Disc Award Ltd. Record Award

“Touch Me” was the third and final RIAA certified single from 60’s legends The Doors. Released in December of 1968, and certified gold on February 13, 1969, it reached a peak chart position of #3.

Here it is celebrated with a Disc Award Ltd. In-House (non-RIAA) award. (If it was an RIAA award it would have been in the white matte format.)

Disc Award Ltd. was the most popular of In-House awards, and all of them had the logo and dragon engraved at 4 o’clock in the trail-off of the disc.

Monarch Records, an independent manufacturer of vinyl LPs and 45s, presented this award to Jac Holzman, the founder and president of the Doors label, Elektra Records.

The wire hanging, and wood-back attached to the frame with masking tape, is all original. The Disc Award Ltd. name and address stamp is seen at about 7 o’clock. Click on photo to expand.
