Fleetwod Mac “Rumours” 1977 Platinum LP In-House Record Award

Rumours, released in February 1977, laid bare the emotional turmoil of the members of Fleetwood Mac—and became there biggest selling album.  It was certified RIAA gold on 2/15/77, platinum on 3/7/77, and reached a peak chart position of #1.

In all respects, but one, this looks like a Floater, the correct RIAA format for the period (1975-1980). But looking closer, there is no RIAA logo on the plate—making this an In-House award. Still an authentic award but not an RIAA award. Labels made In-House awards for convenience, style, or cost savings, and presented them right along with RIAA awards.

Jack Belle, who died in 1987 at age 43, was a New York businessman who booked concerts throughout the North East. He promoted shows featuring acts ranging from Foghat and Golden Earring to The Police and The Who.

Original backing paper, hanging, and Creative Glassics sticker (also an RIAA authorized award manufacturer) show this award to be first-state (unopened and all original).
