Foghat “Energized” 1974 Gold RIAA LP White Matte Record Award

“In the 1970’s and 1980’s, Foghat could lay claim to being one of the last of the blues-rock English bands that had been a dominant force in the country’s pop music scene in the 1960’s. That had both advantages and disadvantages. On the one hand, the band’s energetic stages shows made it a favorite of the still large audience for blues-rock. On the other hand, it was somewhat outside the mainstream of rock’s developments of the post-1960’s, and was looked upon by most critics and some fans as something of a dinosaur.”  – Irwin Stambler The Encyclopedia of Pop Rock and Soul

“Energized” was their third album, but first (of seven) to to be certified gold. It was released in January 1974 and certified RIAA gold on 2/26/75, reaching peak Billboard chart position of #34…

This RIAA White Matte is Authentic, First Presentation, First-State.

David Urso was part of the fabled Warner Bros. Records promotion team, and he reminisced in the inscription below.
