“1999” the title track from this album was a defining moment for Prince. When the song was released it was a good party song. As 1999 and 2000 approached it became an anthem of change, and increased in significance as the century and millennium were about to end. I especially liked coming eye to eye with the label.
Steve Fargnoli was an artist manager and producer who worked with many artists including Prince and Earth Wind & Fire.
He began in the music business as a booking agent in the early 70′s and during his 25-year career, worked with such acts as Sly & the Family Stone, the J. Geils Band, Earth, Wind & Fire and the Emotions.
