Rolling Stones “Beggars Banquet” 1968 Gold RIAA LP White Matte Record Award

Please allow me to introduce you to … The Rolling Stones “Beggars Banquet

Released: 11/68

Certified Gold: 12/23/68

Peak Chart Position: #5

One of the three albums that rounded out the 60’s for the stones including the retrospective Through the Past Darkly and Let It Bleed. Beggars Banquet contained two of their most memorable songs, “Sympathy For The Devil” and the anthem “Street Fighting Man”

London Records was the home to many groups including the Rolling Stones until 1971.

This appears to be the original backing paper and hanging. The address of the New York Frame & Picture sticker has changed to John Street and the plate has a short dash, both of which began being used sometime in 1970. Since the award was certified 12/23/68 it is likely the awards weren’t made until early 1970 and therefore an early example of sticker and dash.
