Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers “Long After Dark”

Released: 11/82

Certified Gold: 1/4/83

Peak Chart Position: # 9

Born in Florida and influenced by the British Invasion, Southern Rock and Classic Rock and Roll, Tom Petty put together the Heartbreakers in the mid 70’s. Hit after hit followed.  “Long After Dark” contains the hit song “You Got Lucky” and was the last album for three years, as Tom took a sabbatical to recharge his life and musical batteries.

Tommy Steele, one of the talented, nice people in the music business, provided creative services and art direction on hundreds of covers.

“More and more we find [musicians] are very involved, and it takes awhile to gain their trust. And when we are really trusted is the time we get to play and discover and invent.” – Tommy Steele

The award has original paper and top center hanging. At the bottom center you can see the outline of the original Creative Glassics sticker (stickers may fall off, leaving just the shadow).
