Linda Ronstadt “Long Long Time” 1970 Silver In-House 45 Record Award

 The hit before international stardom.

“Long Long Time” (video)

Linda Ronstadt’s second solo album, Silk Purse, was released in March 1970. It provided her with her first solo hit, “Long Long Time“, and earned her her first Grammy nomination (for Best Contemporary Vocal Performance/Female).  Neither the album or single were certified by the RIAA, and Linda did not become a worldwide superstar for another five years. Recorded entirely in Nashville, it was produced by Elliot Mazer, whom Ronstadt chose on the advice of Janis Joplin, who had worked with him on her Cheap Thrills album. – Wikipedia

Jay Stevens was a prominent–influential–disc jockey.

Hartt Trophy and Engraving Co, in Hollywood, manufactured this award — in the image of another prominent In-House award manufacture, Disc Award Ltd.   Platinum RIAA awards didn’t begin until six years later. Capitol Records probably called for this one in silver, because someone thought it would look best.

Except for the manufacture sticker, the back is almost identical to one from Disc Award Ltd.
