Archie Bell & The Drells, was formed by Archie Bell, and they started soul-funk-tightening up in Houston in 1966. They were picked up by Atlantic Records, who released Tighten Up in January 1968, giving Archie & crew their only RIAA certification (May 22, 1968) and #1 single on Billboard. Hey now!
