Prince “Lovesexy” 1988 Japanese Gold CD Award

Prince is an American singer-songwriter, musician, multi-instrumentalist and actor. He has produced ten platinum albums and thirty Top 40 singles during his career. This Japanese CD award, measuring 9″X11″, celebrates the “Lovesexy” album, released on May 10, 1988. Cat did dance arrangements and vocals for the Lovesexy tour, which coincidentally ended in Japan.

The award was presented in a box (that you see below it, below). In addition to the award there was a card that said WISH U HEAVEN on the front, and on the inside “Love God” signed by Prince.

The back of Japanese awards, like this one, typically have walnut veneer, silver holding clips, and purple cord hangings.
