“Dirty Laundry”, was Don Henley’s first and biggest solo hit. Released in October of 1982, certified RIAA Gold on March 28, 1983, it reached a peak Billboard chart position of #3.
Here it is celebrated with an Authentic, First Presentation, First-State Gold 45 RIAA Strip-Plate.
I call this award a Strip-Plate because the way the plate is attached, directly to the matte, instead of on a pad which makes it appear to “float” as on Floaters. Compare the Don Henley above, to a 1981 Pointer Sisters RIAA 45 here. A reader has said this award would be a 45 Floater (1975-1981 format), not a 45 Strip-Plate (1981-1985 format), that a Strip-Plate 45 presentation plate would have a vertical black line separating the RIAA logo from the presentation copy. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen that kind of plate. If anyone has, please send me a photo and I’ll update the way this award is categorized. In any event there would be no affect on value, just in description. What do you think? See More…
