Chaka Khan “I Feel For You” – 1984 Album – BPI (British) Gold Record Award

Chaka Khan (born Yvette Marie Stevens on March 23, 1953) is an American singer-songwriter whose career has spanned four decades, beginning in the 1970s as the frontwoman and focal point of the funk band Rufus. Often cited as the Queen of Funk, Khan has sold an estimated 200 million records worldwide.  I Feel for You is her Platinum certified fifth solo album, released on the Warner Bros. Records label in 1984. The title track, “I Feel for You” was a sample-heavy cover of a 1979 Prince track, featuring Grandmaster Melle Mel on the classic Ch-ch-ch-chaka-chaka-chaka Khan rap intro and Stevie Wonder on harmonica, and stands as one of her best known songs and her biggest commercial hit. -Wikipedia The album reached #16 on Billboard’s Album Chart, #4 R&B and #15 in the UK, and is celebrated here with a certified BPI gold album award, presented to Burt Zell, her manager at the time.
