Led Zeppelin “IV” (aka untitled) 1971 Gold RIAA LP White Matte Record Award

With three amazingly powerful and successful albums under their belt, Led Zeppelin had to follow up.  How could their new album take them to a new level?  What might get everyone’s attention … again?

This was the side one they come up with…

Note: side one of an LP was important to get the listeners attention. Cut one/side one got you involved and the last cut/side one got you to want more (side two).

Released in November 1971 and certified gold by the RIAA on November 16, 1971 “IV” reached # 2 on billboard.

The story of Atlantic Records is the story of great music, that has become classic music, from jazz, through rhythm and blues to rock and roll. Ahmet Ertegun, the Atlantic founding father, was joined by executives Herb Abramson, Jerry Wexler, and then Nesuhi Ertegun to guide the company’s music acquisition, creation and sale.

Back has been re-papered but all other parts look original.

To evaluate the authenticness and condition of any award it’s best to hold it in your hands, if that is not possible, photos of the front, plate and back are most useful.
