Neil Diamond, a veteran of the Brill Building song factories, became one of the best selling MOR singer songwriters of the late 60’s and 70’s.
“Holly Holy” was one of his several Uni Label hits. Released in October 1969, it was certified gold on 12/31/1969 and reached a peak chart position of #6. (click any photo to expand)
The presentation plate in the lower left corner was standard for the In-House (non-RIAA) Disc Award Ltd. awards. Joe Bogart was the music/program director of WMCA in New York.
Backing, wire hanging and stamp in the lower left hand corner are original and what you would expect to see on a Disc Award Ltd. award.

Hi,
Are these awards vintage (of the period)? Also, how does their value compare to original RIAA white matte awards?
Thank you…
Robert
Yes. Disc Award Ltd. was an “In-house” awards manufacturer in Los Angeles from the 60’s to the late 70’s. I think they are particularly beautiful but RIAA white mattes have always received a grater value. Thanks for stopping by, if you have any more specif questions, let me know. Jim
