Over a year ago a friend of mine, Bryan Thomas, sent me this photo. No back story. No information on presentation. No reference to nationality of award. No identification of the song it celebrated. Without that type of information that usually accompanies an award post, it didn’t get posted. Until now. The only thing for sure about this award is that it’s sitting on the lap of Petual Clark. And from what it looks like, it’s the 1960’s when her career exploded globally with the massive hit “Downtown” (her first and only RIAA certified award). Subsequent hits like “I Know a Place“, “My Love“, “Colour My World“, “A Sign of the Times“, and “Don’t Sleep in the Subway” could have all been celebrated with gold records. Which is it we see in the picture above? I don’t know, but now you’ve seen it.

Don’t know if this background info is accurate. Interesting.
