“I Wanna Be Your Lover” was Prince’s first RIAA certified single. Released in August of 1979, certified on March 18, 1980, it reached a peak Billboard chart position of #11.Steve Fargnoli was Prince’s manager. During his 25-year career as a manager and producer he worked with many artists including Sly & the Family Stone, The J. Geils Band, The Emotions, and Earth Wind & Fire.
This is a First Presentation, First-State award, with original backing paper and top hanging. The New York Frame & Picture Co. sticker has fallen off, but the outline remains. Stickers falling off awards was quite common in this period, if you don’t see a sticker, look for the outline of where it was.
