R. Kelly released R. on November 10, 1998 and according to Wikipedia, this album was the first time Kelly allowed other record producers to produce or co-produce on his album, as opposed to producing the entire album himself, as well as his first time collaborating with various artists on his album. The result was a huge success and Kelly’s biggest selling album to date, selling 8 million copies in the US and 12.4 million copies worldwide. The backing board of the award obviously soaked up some moisture in storage. Luckily it didn’t get through to the front of the award, and the sticker from RIAA authorized manufacture Off The Wall remains in good condition.
