Stax Records, with their iconic snapping fingers logo, was home to great artists and groups.
The Staple Singers were one of them.
“If You Are Ready (Come Go With Me)” was released in October 1973, certified RIAA gold on 12/19/73, reaching a peak hot 100 chart position of #9.
If you’ve been following Honor Music posts, you’ll see this is a first presentation (correct format for date of certification), authentic (made by an RIAA approved award manufacturer), and unopened (all original parts) award. These boldfaced components of value, help you separate real awards from display, souvenir and “fake” awards.
Bud O’Shea held many positions with Columbia/Epic Records. He was the branch manager in San Francisco and promotional manager of the year in 1972. (Stax developed a distribution deal with Columbia in 1972)
The backing paper and hanging are original as is the small New York Frame & Picture Sticker which was appropriate for 45’s of the period.
